We wish to inform that 2 of our production workers out of a total workforce of 200 in our Senai factory have been tested positive for COVID-19 and they are currently under medical care at a government hospital. We had immediately closed the affected Senai factory until 21 December 2020 as directed by the Ministry of Health. In the meantime, we will carry out deep cleaning and sanitization as per the directive from the Ministry of Health.
All primary contacts of the affected individuals have been identified and place under quarantine and will undergo subsequent testing as per SOPs before they are permitted to return to work. The capacity loss is estimated to be less than 0.7% of the Group’s total annual output. Senai factory is one of the 5 factories within the Group.
The health and safety of the employees is a top priority. OKA remains committed to do our part in the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic. We are dedicated to follow stringent measures to safeguard our employees as well as the communities in which we operate.
OKA will continue to work closely with and follow the SOPs from the Ministry of Health and National Security Council to ensure the continuous safety of our employees.
