Member's Voluntary Winding-Up of an indirect dormant subsidiary

Further to the Company’s announcements made on 29 May 2020 and 31 May 2020 ("Announcements") relating to the member's voluntary winding-up, the Company wishes to announce that the Liquidator has on 15 February 2022 confirmed that East India Company Clothing (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, a dormant wholly-owned subsidiary of Metrojaya Berhad, which is in turn an indirect 97.41%-owned subsidiary of the Company, had been dissolved on 28 December 2021 pursuant to Section 459(5) of the Companies Act 2016.

 

As stated in the Announcements, the winding-up is to simplify the structure of the MUIB Group, reduce costs associated with maintaining the subsidiary and has no financial or operational effect on the MUIB Group.

 

This announcement is dated 15 February 2022.
