Working experience and occupation 

Dato' Dr. Jalaluddin was appointed as the 8th Director General of Malaysian Timber Industry Board (MTIB), Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities for 9 years and 8 months from 1 April 2009 to 31 December 2018. Prior to that, he served as Academic Staff of Faculty of Forestry in Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) for 29 years from 1980 to 2009. 

He also established and appointed as Founding Director of Institute of Tropical Forestry and Forest Products (INTROP), UPM in 2005. In addition, Dato' Dr. Jalaluddin has produced more than 110 articles and publications in journals, magazines, technical notes, papers in both international and domestic conferences and congress.

Subsequently, he was appointed as the Head and Coordinator, Kenaf Downstream R&D in 2000 until 2009. Dato' Dr. Jalaluddin also involved in two Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) which is (i) Qiam: Joined in 2019. Position: Head of Political Bureau; and (ii) SEDAR: Founding Member 2020. Position: Hon. Secretary General.
